Pangolin Commences Core Drilling on a 10 Hectare Kimberlite Pipe Shaped Target That Returned Positive Kimberlite Indicators at Depth, Botswana, Africa

TORONTO, ONTARIO (September 19, 2018) – Pangolin Diamonds Corp. (TSX-V: PAN) (the “Company” or “Pangolin”) is pleased to provide an update from the latest drill programme at the Company’s wholly-owned Malatswae Diamond Project (“Malatswae”), located 75 km southeast of the Orapa Kimberlite Field in Botswana.

Highlights include:

  • A completed percussion drill programme returned positive kimberlite indicator minerals at depths between 74 and 98 metres.
  • The magnetically positive pipe shaped anomaly is approximately 10 hectares in size.
  • A 200+ metre core drilling programme has been initiated to confirm kimberlite as the source of the magnetic anomaly and kimberlite indicators.
  • A diamond has been recovered at surface proximal to the drill target.
  • Drill results will be announced once all the data has been received and interpreted.

Pangolin Finds First Diamond at Jwaneng South Diamond Project, Botswana, and Completes Groundmagnetic Survey over AK 10 Kimberlite.

  • The first diamond in the Jwaneng South Diamond Project has been recovered from a soil sample.
  • Indications are that the diamond is close to source.
  • The diamond was recovered from a third phase soil sample grid.
  • A groundmagnetic survey has been completed in the area where the diamond has been found.
  • A groundmagnetic anomaly is spatially associated with the diamond positive sample.
  • A detailed groundmagnetic survey has been completed over the Orapa AK 10 diamondiferous kimberlite pipe.

Pangolin Files 43-101 and Provides Project Update

Pangolin Diamonds to Drill Kimberlite Targets at Motloutse Diamond Project, Botswana

  • The Motloutse Diamond Project covers the area where the first diamonds in Botswana were recovered in 1959
  • The AGA-01 drill target is an aeromagnetic and gravity anomaly associated with positive sub-angular kimberlite indicator minerals recovered at surface
  • Additional kimberlite targets are also being developed for the drill program

Pangolin Recovers 177 Kimberlite Indicators and Defines Three Exploration Focus Areas within the MTS Grid, Malatswae Diamond Project, Botswana

  • A total of 177 kimberlite indicators recovered from 99 soil samples collected within a 0.8 km2 area of the larger grid
  • The majority of indicators have surface textures suggesting a proximal source 
  • Two picroilmenites have fragile surface features suggesting a very close source
  • Most of the garnets have compositions similar to garnets from diamonds
  • A diamond from the grid supports the presence of diamondiferous kimberlites in the area

  • The MTS grid confirmed as a new diamondiferous kimberlite target area
  • The diamond and kimberlitic pyrope garnet with G10 compositions have been recovered from soil samples

  • Many pyrope from other samples have near-source surface features

Pangolin Reports Pyrope G10 Garnets, Malatswae Diamond Project, Botswana

  • Pyrope garnets with G10 compositions, consistent with the diamond stability field, recovered from a soil sample.
  • Three high-pressure garnet megacrysts recovered from three soil samples.
  • Additional anomalous garnet concentrations have been recovered from soil samples within a 2km x 2km zone and are being assessed for surface morphology.

Pangolin Recovers Fifth Diamond from Malatswae Diamond Project, Botswana

  • A soil sample collected in the upwind direction from the MSC Grid yields a positive diamond result. 
  • The diamond was recovered within 550 metres of the centre of aeromagnetic anomaly MX14. 
  • An ilmenite with kimberlite attached was recovered from a soil sample. 
  • The ilmenite has a close spatial association with aeromagnetic anomaly MX01, immediately east of the MSC Grid.
